Tell Us
Let us know you trusted Jesus. A pastor will reach out to talk and pray with you.
Maybe you grew up around church. Maybe you never did. Maybe you carry guilt you cannot shake, or questions no one has answered. Wherever you are, God has spoken, and His news is good. Here is the gospel in plain words, and how you can respond today.
God created you in His image (Genesis 1:27). You were made to know Him, love Him, and live under His good rule. Sixteen centuries ago, Augustine prayed, “You have made us for yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.”
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
Genesis 1:27 (ESV)
We have all turned away from God. We have gone our own way and broken His law in what we think, say, and do (Romans 3:23). Sin is more than a mistake. It is rebellion against a holy God, and it brings His just judgment. You cannot fix this by trying harder or being good enough.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 (ESV)
God did not leave us under that judgment. He sent His Son, Jesus, who lived the perfect life we have not lived. On the cross, Jesus took the punishment our sin deserves. He stood in our place and bore God’s judgment so we could be forgiven (1 Peter 3:18). Three days later He rose from the dead and defeated sin and death (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Jesus is the only way to God (John 14:6), and He is enough.
“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 (ESV)
Salvation is a free gift. You receive it by grace through faith, not by your own effort (Ephesians 2:8-9). Jesus calls you to repent and believe (Mark 1:15). To repent is to turn from your sin. To believe is to trust Jesus as your Savior and follow Him as your Lord (Romans 10:9). When you trust Jesus, God forgives every sin, declares you right with Him (Romans 5:1), and makes you new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Ephesians 2:8–9 (ESV)
“My memory is nearly gone, but I remember two things: that I am a great sinner, and that Christ is a great Savior.”
John Newton, former slave-ship captain and author of “Amazing Grace”
A prayer does not save you. Jesus saves you. If you are ready to trust Him, tell Him in your own words, or pray something like this:
“Jesus, I have sinned against You. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust You alone to save me. I want to follow You as my Lord. Thank You for forgiving me. Amen.”
“because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9 (ESV)
